BA is "background"

Postby nerobot » Fri Jul 09, 2010 9:09 am

Hi,

Sorry is this question sounds odd or doesn't make sense.

I was wondering if there is a way of running BA in the "background". Since I'm working on making a bot, using a VPS (with quite limited RAM and CPU speed), and thus don't really use the graphical interface, I was wondering if it is posible to run BA in the background, i.e. with no graphical interface, and simply control it via Excel (or C++ COM if I ever figure out how to do this). The main reason being that the graphical interface of BA seems to be taking up quite a lot of CPU power on my VPS, which seems unnecessary when not using it.

Thanks for any help, and please feel free to ask any questions if this doesn't make much sense.

Regards,

Steven

I'm afraid there isn't. I have today released the latest Beta which has reduced the CPU overhead for the grid interface. You could try this version to see if it helps. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3922

Thanks for the quick reply Gary. I'll have a look into the new Beta version today.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
