After browse and select Workbook, confirmed nothing appears in textboxs - then click on "OK" - a popupbox appears saying "No workbook selected" or such - hmm o yes i have !

Odd - didnt see that popup box on first 5 workbooks I opened in 5 tabs of BA !

This version now recognises multiple instances of Excel that are already running. To enable this though there a few requirements which may have caused your problem.

1) Make sure all workbooks are saved. If you have created a new workbook, but not saved it yet you could have problems.

2) Make sure all workbooks are saved in the same folder.

The problem could also have been caused by an invisible instance of Excel which was confused with the workbook you browsed to.

Hi Gary - yes there could have been an invisible instance of Excel oerhung from earlier in day.

I'll try a couple of invisibles - see if BA has problem with 2nd tab linking to Excel

XP home pc : Checked taskmanager - to ensure no instances of Excel running

Start BA :-

tab 1 - an invisible instance of Excel - loaded ok

tab 2 : - 2nd invisible instance of Excel - still displaying in workbook name and worsheet name - the first workbook

will reboot and try again

still displaying in workbook name and worsheet name - the first workbook

Is it not possible to select the other workbook from the workbook drop down list? If not are both workbooks saved in the same folder?

Both invisible instances are opened from the same folder

It is not possible to select the 2nd instant from the workbook name dropdown list - only the first workbook is there

Gary - do you want me to email you these to Excel workbooks ?

putting the workbooks in seperate folders, and then opening from BA - made no difference when attempting to open the 2nd workbook

Invisible instances of Excel is a bit of a red herring ?

Repeated the process with 2 visible instances - and again was unable to get the 2nd workbook name - checked the drop down list - no - only the 1st workbook listed there. Tried 'refresh' button - still unable to find the 2nd workbook name

This new version has caused too many problems for me to able to fix quickly enough to everyone's satisfaction so for now can you uninstall and re-install from the link below to get back to version 1.1.0.66w. This will give me more time to investigate.

Gary,

I also had this issue but it doesn't happen every time - I have always had the spreadsheets open before I open BA.

But if you click on browse in BA find your file it then opens a 2nd copy as read only version then I just closed that down and the files you where originally after now appear in BA's dropdown list - simples - it wasn't too much of an inconvenience

Gary,

I know you're having a few problems with the new updates and just want to make you aware of this one also..... I tried both the 66x6 and 66x7 versions this morning and both failed to work using the 'log multiple sheets quick link'

On the horse racing market with load different venues in different tabs, when the quick link is initiated, excel opens but each BA tab then becomes blank with the quick pick list missing across all tabs.

I've rolled back to 66w already so it isn't affecting my trading.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
