What is that error all about when it appears in the BetRef column ? I've had it a few times today.

I don't know yet I'm afraid. It's not something I ever expected to see. Is this the first time you've seen this error?
It would help if you could send the file named BA_Diagnostic.txt from the "c:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs" folder to admin@gruss-software.co.uk next time it happens.

Yes, never seen it before. No mention of it in the Diagnostic file but if it happens tomorrow I'll send it to you. Its something to do with a new routine I'm running.

Does this involve possibly changing the bet ref column while it still may contain PENDING? Just guessing at the moment.

Another user reported this and they were using LAYR and BACKR.
Does the new routine involve these triggers?

No, the trigger is very simple indeed, "BACK-SP". Its the Odds and Stake cells that are complicated as they refer to another workbook using VLOOKUP. Most of the bets go through OK but then I get this Error for some of them. Odd. No doubt there'll be a simple answer. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.

JUST HAPPENED AGAIN IN THE LAST RACE (15:00) BUT NOTHING RELEVANT IN THE LOG FILE.

THE FULL ERROR THOUGH IS ERROR_LOGGING_REF

Sorry about the caps. Was stuck on...

I will have to add more to the log file then. I will send you an update when it's ready. I haven't been able to replicate it so my best chance is to capture it in the log file.

I had a look for the sheet but looks like i may have changed the code, i am pretty sure i know what truugered it so will try to reproduce it.

I have found a solution to my problem i think, but would still be interested why the LAYR trigger was not working for me

Yes just got your reply thanks, i am in the process of changeing e-mail, atleast now i know it won't change partial bets, that was sending me nuts because in all other areas it was working.

I will have a look at your sheet and follow your info, thanks for the help.

yes those stakes were below min, but i think when it was tested by the sheets intended user he was using well above min and still got the error.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
