Ver 0.86 is available. No new features yet, just improved the refreshing code (see my previous message). Also I've changed the way stakes are input so it no longer interferes with the prices updating. Also I've got rid of those minus stake amounts which were showing when dutching. There's also an indicator to show the refresh rate that is actually being achieved so you can see if Betfair is slow.

Excellent program. Keep up the good work.

Could i make a small request? On your webpage could you put the version number next to the download link? This would make it easier to see if we are running the latest version or not..

Cheers

Good work Gary. Can I point out a minor bug ...

The scroll seems to be split when using the mouse wheel. Loading up a large field causes the scroll bar to appear. Moving the scroll by click and drag isn't a problem. However, click a horses name and use the mouse wheel to scroll and the horses move but the prices don't. Click a profit/loss area and the prices move up and down but the horses don't. They do re-align though by clicking the scroll bar, but it is wierd behaviour.

Just thought I'd point this out.

Keep up the good work

Excellent, The new version is even better, the refresh now works much more efficiently and without the annoying cursor flicker! Well done keep up the good progress, just gets better and better.

As discussed previously are there any plans yet in the trading option to have a weight of money indication?? I think you are well on the way to being the market leader with this product!!!

Regarding going open source. It sounds like a lot of hassle to manage so I would prefer not to. IMO any programmer who could make a worth while contribution could also create their own program and has probably done so be it for their own personal use or commercial gain. Anyway I want to share it, but I also want it to be all my own effort. That is part of what I am getting out of doing it and I don't want to lose that. Sorry if that sounds selfish.

Every time i start up I get exception errors. Its been working fine till this morning.

This is happening with every version of the program to date. I have reinstalled the net framework and it still happens. I have even installed net framework and program on spare pc and it still happens.

Are commercial influences at work ???

If it happens select and set preferences. Open new page and program should function normally

The new page idea works a treat so thanks for that and the new refresh rate setting is far less intrusive on my computers CPU so one again thankyou Gary.

I have noticed that if I try to minimise the Price History it does not allow more information to the right to squash up?

Yeah works with the new page option, but all default info including market suspend and stakes are not there, stakes as Null!!! still works though, I think it has something to do with a betfair upgrade as I had to redo my preferences, verify bets and show profit after commission etc

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
