New to Xl help req

Postby tom24 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 7:17 pm

Hi all, I am picking on average 10 lays per day, bets staying in play. I want to lay them at anything from 3.0 to 8.0, and back them if they come in by 25% or more of their lay price as a stop loss safety net. (i.e. 3.0 lay - 2.25 back, 8.0 lay, - 6.0 back)

I am using BA to do this at present, but the xl spreadsheet would make things a lot easier with work

I have tried the spreadsheet today using a low stake to try the xl method, and I would like to put all of the days lays on the one spreadsheet using the formula described above, but today, only the lays got placed but the back bets were not activated when they moved into my set price limits for the horse.

What have I done wrong?, and can anyone please help me with the above -25% lay-back formula using xl. Do I need seperate spreadsheets for back and lay, not sure what to do now, but I am sure someone will point me in the right direction. This is great software, and I want to get the best out of it I can, thanks in advance, Tom.

Hi Tom

are you clearing out the bet reference cells after you have placed the lays?

Hi Gary, thanks for the reply. Not sure what you mean in clearing the bet reference cells after lays.
What I am trying to do is for about 10-15 races in the day, place a lay bet on selected horse between 3.0 and 8.0, and at the same time, place a back bet as a stop loss at 25% under the lay price (i.e. 8.0 lay-6.0 back).

I placed the lay bets which were triggered at req prices, but the back bets did not trigger, even though they came into desired price range.
Not surte how I can do this to place my days selections all at once, and need some assistance, thanks, Tom

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
