Simple question!

Postby Royville » Mon Sep 19, 2011 11:29 am

Hi,

Not sure if this has been delt with before guy's but here go's ...

In a horserace, how can you be certain of selecting the favorite in that race?
The reason I ask is that sometimes I select what I think is favorite (ie lowest odds) only to find later that another horse became favorite.

What is the best way to select the favortie?

Regards all

You can't because the favourite is determined by the on course betting market. The final SP is determined whilst the race is running so there is quite often some differences between the final show and the SP.

So, that means we will only guess it? It will be a luck to choose the right one then Image

It depends on whether you rely on the market as truth or have your own method for not relying on guessing.

The lowest odds define the market favourite(s). The favourite(s) may be different amongst alternate markets. The favourite(s) can change at any time before and during the event. You can decide whether the market represents value; how well you do that will determine how much luck or guessing is required :)

I think I've been watching too many Japanese films recently... :)

Talking of Japanese films, I just watched one which I thought was Japanese but is actually South Korean (sorry Japanese friends) called 'Old Boy'. If you're into these weird far eastern films Os, you should give it a try, if you haven't already.

I've just set up my Sony wifi BluRay system and now have access to my Love Film account from my TV system, so I'm watching loads of films everyday before racing.

Strange how there are so many good films out there that have never had any publicity whatsoever.

Try the following Doris_Day:-

Death Note
Death Note: The Last Day
Kikujiro
Departures
Letters From Iwo Jima
Kamikaze Girls

A mixed bag of Japanese films that are worth watching.

I like weird and obscure foreign films - Old Boy and Death Note are great.

It was Fish Story and Suicide Circle I watched last last night, both were really good.

Other good ones I've seen recently if you're interested are
Berserk
Ichi the Killer
Ghost Hound
Sympathy for Mr Vengeance

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
