Non runners including late withdrawn horses

Hi everyone is there anyway to count the number of runners in a race using excel including late withdrawn horses, I know there is one or two topics on this on the forum but I wasnt sure if this included late withdrawals. Can anybody help?

=COUNTA(A5:A44)

If a horse is withdrawn and betfair removes it from the market whilst you have the market selected in BA then the horse name is suffixed with " (NR)".

If you don't want the NR's to be counted, subtract them from the total:

=COUNTA(A5:A44)-COUNTIF(A5:A44,"*(NR)")
