Hi As no replies have arrived yet maybe I can help.
Last matched.....is the price that last got matched it could have been a back or a lay.
Back Price is the offered price you see on the grid, and there is someone offering that price on the lay side for you to take if you want it.....

When using conditional bets the best advice I can give is
a. if it is the first of a trading pair then go in (above for a back/ below for a lay), the last matched price and see if you get matched.....if not cancel and try again till you do.....
b. if its the second of the trading pair and it is to green you up or a stop loss then you need to be sure you are matched so go in below for a back and above for a lay and you should get matched.
The amount of above or below is up to you.

Now with regard to your 1500 quid bet.....on every race there are some punters who do set up unmatched bets at the extreams and hope that they will get matched as the odds go past them...... some times they are lucky, sometimes not.......
I had traded a race a couple of years ago and made 30 quid......1 horse was removed at the off and after the betfair recalcs rule 4......I was in debt on the race win or loose £1654 so thats from win 30 quid to lose 1654 quid.....not a bad result?????cleared out me bank.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
