Ladbrokes confirms Betdaq acquisition

Postby Drunkenight » Thu Jan 24, 2013 2:20 pm

Ladbrokes plc ("Ladbrokes") one of the world's leading betting and gaming
companies, has today agreed to acquire Global Betting Exchange Alderney
Limited ("GBEA"), the operator of the Betdaq exchange business, for an initial
consideration of Euro30m on a cash free/debt free basis from TBH Limited ("TBH").
In addition, Ladbrokes has agreed to acquire from TBH a 10% stake in TBH
Guernsey Limited ("TBHG"), the technology provider to GBEA, for Euro4m, with a
call option to acquire the remaining shares in TBHG after four years. The
transaction is subject to certain conditions, including certain regulatory
approvals and confirmations. It is expected to complete in late February
2013.

Hi Drunkenight,

still not working for me.

What is happening is that if I select a race that is next or close to the current time the screen acts normally for a few seconds and then "freezes" with the words "Market Closed" over the odds.

Further away races just appear immediately with the "Market Closed" message across them.

Strange. I have had that a few times before in the past and it normally indicates that there are problems with the Betdaq API. However my BA for Betdaq is worrking fine and I even just checked on another machine and it works fine there also. Have you tried reloading the markets? Rebooting etc.

Hi,

Ok you need to be on the latest version which is 1.0.8.8

Here is the download link http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/BA_Betdaq_Assistant/BA_Betdaq.msi

You may need to uninstall the version you have first via Windows Control Panel.

Regards,
Mark

Something has gone wrong with Betdaq's API. I need to provide evidence to them as they do not think there is a problem. We should not have had to produce a work around.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
