LAYR

Postby jrarmstrong » Mon Feb 25, 2013 9:05 pm

Hi,

Does LAYR cancel offset bets/stop loss when the entry has been matched?

For example, a back is matched at 2, an offset is placed for 1.5 and a stop is set for 20. Certain criteria are met meaning I want to cut out immediately without the offset or stop being hit.

Would LAYR achieve this?

Thanks,

James

Yes. LAYR is equivalent to CANCEL followed by LAY which also cancels the tick offset/stop loss.

Gary,

Thanks. It does not seem to cancel the offset bet when the opening bet has been matched?

Thanks,

Sorry, I interpreted your question incorrectly. It cancels the processing of stop loss and tick offset bets. For example if the tick offset bet is part matched then no further offset bets will be placed if the remainder is matched. It does not cancel offset bets already placed (except any unmatched portion of the original bet), only further bets being placed if that makes sense.

You would do better to use CANCEL-ALL to cancel all unmatched bets for the selection and prevent further offset bets being placed and then just use the normal LAY trigger.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
