Returning after winter snooze. And what is Dean.Edwards.dll ?

Postby Fixador » Fri May 24, 2013 1:00 pm

Hi All,

Even typing is hard going after hibernating since xmas last - so, sorry for the spelling errors.

In the interim I managed to wipe my XP notebook - XP reload - so have had to reload a lot of programs ( from a clean slate ) including Gruss BA. AND switch off the standby power function !

ver 1.1.0.66x84 on XP desktop and XP notebook

I want copy my PROFILE from the desktop to use on the Notebook ( I only have one pc or the other logged into BA at a time - usually the notebook )

Damned if I can find the profiles on the desktop though - so did a search of the forum - and found location instructions for Windows 7 - but not XP

Yes I checked - I do have a profile setup on the XP desktop

Also - I noticed on the Notebook :-

C:/Program Files/Betting Assistant/Dean.Edwards.dll dated install 13jan2012 and axcessed today

Doesn't appear on my Desktop ? do I have an intruder on my Netbook ?

From XP Desktop copied:-

C:\Documents and Settings\{my name}\My Documents\ BA_Settings_Backup.txt and also in same folder "Betting Assistant_settings.xml"

Put these in same location on the XP Netbook.

Rebooted XP Notebook, started BA. logged in, Copied Profiles donot appear as an option in the dropdown box

Dean.Edwards.dll is not an intruder. It's a library supporting an upcoming feature in the Beta version.

The procedure for copying profiles is the same for XP as Windows 7 if both versions are the Beta.

1) Open Betting Assistant application on the desktop and select "Open settings folder" from the options menu. This will open a windows explorer window. Copy all files with .config extension

2) Open Betting Assistant application on the Notebook and open settings folder as above then close Betting Assistant.

3) Copy the files from step 1 to the settings folder on the Notebook then start Betting Assistant.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
