Hi Guys

I've been using BA for some time now and have had very few problems.

I use the live odds from Sporting Life in my spreadsheet and have used the same sheet and formulas since I started.

Unfortunately now, just this last few days and today especially, the Betfair figures are still coming through as usual but the Live Odds have stopped or are very intermittent.

I'm assuming its something at Sporting Life's end but have no idea how to approach them or even who to ask.

Is it something you can look at for me please?

Odd live odds have just stopped completely now chaps on all three meetings today and I'm now at a complete stop

Can anything be done please or is there another site that will provide live shows I can feed off?

Thanks for the interest chaps

On the day I posted, nothing would work and the liveodds had simply stopped coming through. The next day things were back pretty much to normal but the liveodds are very unpredictable and intermittent

There's no obvious reason for it. The betfair prices are not affected and come through fine but the liveodds flick on and off - but its those figures I use and if they aren't coming through then it stops me dead

I dont want to be a nuisance but I really would appreciate someone having a little look at things

I'm looking at it now. It appears to be the requests timing out so the website must be responding slower than previously. I am still establishing if this is the case and will get back to you asap.

It is the requests timing out. Make the timeout longer and see if it helps.

1. Stop the Excel link.

2. Press alt-f11 to bring up the code editor.

3. Find the line that reads as follows in the getPage function.

Code: Select all: web.setTimeouts 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000

Change it to read as follows.

Code: Select all: web.setTimeouts 10000, 10000, 10000, 10000

4. Save the spreadsheet.

5. Re-start the Excel link to BA.

Ok, done that

Early days obviously but it does seem steadier and the odds are coming through ok

I'm on it all afternoon anyway so I'll let you know how things go

Nope, sorry Gary, still got problems

It was causing excel to crash so I stopped the link, and changed the code back to as it was previous.

Now its stopped all together again
