Why are the greyhound markets being suspended early

Postby Ian1506 » Sat Jul 06, 2013 11:20 am

Hi folks. Tonight I was looking do some triggered betting on the Romford and Crayford markets. I noticed that the market became suspended at the 40 - 30 second mark before the off and never came on again. This happened for 4 races in a row.
The question I have is whether the problem is with the tracks starting their races early, my internal clock or do I have a setting wrong somewhere in BA.
For someone who sets triggers at the 1 minute mark only to have the market suspend 40 seconds before the off, this would be pretty annoying.
Of course it may be because I live in Australie and thing happen a bit slower here.
Cheers Ian

Betfair arn't too great at managing the greyhounds markets imo,

Ive seen them suspend 30 + seconds before the off at times and with that plus no inplay, it can be a real death trap.

I think they're trying out things for a reason. I'm just not sure though.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
