Just successfully placed bets by sending a request directly to Betfair, completely bypassing Internet Explorer. This means the program can now place bets even faster. I am busy updating all the bet placing code and shall put it in the next release.

Layit,

not sure if someone else asked before, but it would be nice to have a submit button on top of the "my bets" area, just like you had in Firefox.

Very nice job BTW.

Looking good Layit - the auto updates etc all work a treat

I've decided to open an account in pounds so that i can use the dutching function to full effect.

One thing i did notice in testing it was that the program won't dutch a runner which needs less than 2 pounds on it to acheive the target. I guess if people are betting big amounts this isn't an issue, however, i often find a 20 or 30 to 1 pop that i think has some chance of winning and would rather include it then leave it out.

Would it be possible to place the minimum 2 pound stake on any selected runner and build that into the dutching equation??? Basically allow the runners at bigger odds to return a larger profit with the main fancies returning the target profit taking into account the additional stake on the longer runner.

I hope this makes sense.

Great Program - cheers

cglover, it's the multiples of money each side. i.e. 3 times more money on the back side than the lay side or vice versa

WOM = Weight Of Money indicator.
Add up the £'s available in the three boxes on the BACK side say £200+£100+£100 = £400
Add up the £'s available in the three boxes on the LAY side say £100+£50+£50 = £200
BACK divided by LAY total = 400/200 = 2
WOM figure would show indicating that there is twice as much money been layed on the horse i.e. availble to 'backers', as there has been backed on the horse i.e. available to 'layers'

Moocher would i be right in saying that would show as a pink 2 then , indicating a better lay than a back because the price of the back is likely to get bigger because more people want to lay it than back it ?

sorry for stupid questions

Layit, probably being very petty here but I was just wondering if it would be a problem to adjust the font of the numbers to make them a bit bolder. My mincies aren't as good as they used to be!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
