The parent Id is a reference that'll group all related markets together, so if we had a football match the win market id maybe 111111111 and parent id 222 we can do an API call using the parent id of 222 and it would pull us up all markets relating to that match i.e. over 2.5, under 1.5, corners etc etc

With horse racing you should see the same parent id for the win and place markets etc

Not sure why it's echo'd to the sheet maybe for the COM.

code for getting the markets (ids) of a football match (match's id already stored)?
ie the o/u, match odds etc

I guess it will be using com and saving them in an array?

Any code available?

using com the getPrices returns prices from the current opened market.
Is there a way to get these prices without opening and logging the market into excel?
something like getPrices(marketId) will get you all this info
like the getEvents() gets you a list of events without linking anything into excel.
Otherwise I have to log every market that I want it's prices into excel - one by one - and then get the info?

I don't use the COM but I'd imagine because you're using the vba capabilities of excel the only way to get info in and out of BA is by using the excel refreshes. If you switched from excel and used something else as your COM access say something coded in visual studio then there would be no need to your excel link but like I say I don't actually use the COM just making assumptions that it can be accessed via other means than linking to excel.

I dont use anything else but excel.
I only know vba - learn by myself -
My code is a "mess" but does the job

I assume that getting the prices at the background is quicker than sending them in excel but if there is not such a way I try it this way.

Anyone with a sample code doing something similar to what I asked for?

as far as I am aware, the COM only allows you to get prices for the market that is currently displayed in gruss

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
