Windows 8 Touchscreen Tablet

Postby Betscrew » Sun Oct 12, 2014 4:51 pm

Hi.
Just wondering if anyone is using BA on a Windows 8 touchscreen laptop/tablet, or indeed, if it will work on such.
Also, if anyone is using a Windows tablet or has any views or recommendations, then please share! Although I detest Microshaft, it seems the Surface Pro 2 might be a possible.

TIA

FYI only - I have recently acquired an Asus Transformer T100 10.1" Tablet PC,
not as good as the Surface Pro 2 but very much cheaper.

Also I can say that it runs just fine, no problems whatsoever with reasonable
connectivity, e.g. USB3 port, HDMI out, Windows 8.1, etc. Touch screen very smooth
but can also be used as a desktop. VERY quick to boot up or shutdown.

Comes supplied with simple to plug in/out keyboard and micro SD slot
that will take at least a 64gb memory card. Only 32gb built in though :-(

Works and runs Betting Assistant just fine, like a budget laptop only smaller :-)
Very portable and pretty fair battery life, good all round except for higher end
games, usual stuff no worries though, much faster and smoother than netbooks.

Hope this is of interest - Michael

Additionally, as long as this is not Windows RT as described below, I think it should be fine too.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
