Updating Quick Pick list when races are delayed

Postby Happy Harry » Thu Nov 06, 2014 5:10 am

This is usually due to races being put back during the afternoon. So would anyone have any idea how to periodically, without unlinking sheets, update the qpick list. If races are loaded too early then the approximate sp is way out and that means that my bet sizes get out of whack.

Thanks

Ok peoples.

so far so good with the new interface. An issue yesterday but once again today the races for Rockhampton have been pushed way back by one race. So there has to be a way to update the QPick List, while not double betting anything already processed.

So lets carry the discussion forward a little bit. When the meetings are pushed back then the count down timer to race start reflects that the qpick load is wrong. So in that case I want the 1 minute prior to race setting to trigger the BA excel spreadsheet to see that. Not trigger the spreadsheet. Update the QPick list. And the proceed for the rest of the afternoon in the correct race order picking up the [now delayed] races at one min before their [now delayed] Start time.

Sounds pretty simple to me but I dont know how to do it ....... unless, Gary, how about the timers always check that the countdown=the correct time +/- a few seconds to allow for lags and so on. If the current QPick start time, and the Countdown timers agree, then the spreadsheet process's as normal. If however the Load Race is set for 1 minute, and the time to race is 2 mins or more, the BA knows that the QPick list is wrong. So by default .....

1. DOES NOT TRIGGER THE SPREADSHEET.
2. Re uploads the current QPick List.
3. Then, on the basis of the now corrected list, triggers @ 1 min [or whatever is set], does the same comparison. Then decides whether to execute the bets, or further update the QPick list.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
