Hello,
I'm having problems running this new version of Betting Assistant (ver. 1.3.0) for more than 24hours non-stop. Have tried in 2 different systems.
After being running with no problems for several hours I have to restart the software. I can't access any market and my account balance becomes 0 (zero).
Today I just let it running and made no bets. I had to restart at 20h00 (when I arrived home) with the same problem. There is no problem in the diagnostic log:

09112014 02:35:07:267: API login response:OK
09112014 02:35:07:423: Session currency:EUR
09112014 02:35:07:984: Adding news page
09112014 02:35:08:655: News tab page added.
09112014 02:35:14:224: addMarkets(). Market type:UK WIN
Some users login sessions time out for no reason that I can determine. Which version are you using? 1.3.0.?
Hi Gary,
I was using ver.1.3.0. I installed version 1.3.7 and problem is solved, KeepAlive = OK in the diagnostic Log. Thanks
Now I get the Diagnostic Log flooding with this error message though there is no problem with functionality:

11112014 12:11:17:281: Error extracting traded volume: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Betting_Assistant.exchAPI.extractTradedVolume(String t, Boolean placeMarket, betfairTabPage tb) in C:\Betting Assistant Beta Next Gen API\Betfair Trading API Beta\exchAPI.vb:line 2400

Hi Gary,
I'm facing a little problem while using Betting Assistant.
When refreshing the price, also the market depth is being updated constantly.
This makes my refresh speed quite slow to unusable in certain moments.
Is there a way to reduce the market depth update like it was possible in the old Api's version?
In other softwares this is possible I know for sure.
Please let me know,
Thanks in advance,
Franco

appologies if this has been highlighted before.

On a 5 second in-running market, if u have an existing bet, and update it, the page becomes effectively locked to u (in that the mouse doesnt move
and highlight over a column), until the 5 second processing time, is up.

In the previous version, this wasnt an issue.

Can u fix this ? if not, users should be aware, if they are updating bets, they cant even cancel, other bets, till the 5 sec window, on the update, is over.

I havent checked to see if it applies to 8 second markets .. if it does, it will be a real pain.

Sorry this was a bug, it should update in the background. I have fixed this. Please install version 1.3.0.9 from the link below.

I didn't realise this would be an issue for people. The option does not currently exist. I will see what I can do.

THX Gary.

Don't consider only the point of view of UK customers with super speed connection and super computer... Consider the point of view of all rest of the people... I get bettting assistnt from 5 years because is speedest and simple... the maximum.... but now is hope you can put this option. THX

Is it possible to stop the TBP (to be placed) markets, and sometimes f/c markets, getting picked up as win markets in the quick pick list. Should hopefully be an easy fix as the number of winners is always >1

Wasn't aware if this issue until today. I've had 3 reports so something must have changed to break my code. I'll investigate.

Thanks, it's also been happening on the AUS markets and Greyhounds (F/C being added) in the past.

Also happening to me. I'm using the -3 excel trigger if it makes any difference, but preferences set to 'Exclude horse racing place markets'.

OK a couple of small items have reared their head. The betting in general is going OK but some long(ish) placement times. Problems are:-

1. The function to move monies between wallets on the "Account" Tab has disappeared. How do you now move money between the Australian and UK wallets?

2. In the results sheet previously some detail was available at bet placement including ref number, Horse name. Now the Horse Name, which confirmed that the bet was proessed is not appearing. Just the Bet Ref number with no detail. Not a biggie. The fields all correct populate after the market has been settled but the presettle information was useful.

Also, on the list of requests for this change was access to the overall Statement Information. Is that in the new version, either by access from com, not that I know how to do that yet, or better still directly into Excel?

Thanks

HH

Hi Gary

Ver 1.3.0.9

If you place a bet in grid view, and the click on the bet in Bet Manager to amend the stake or odds the odds update correctly but amending the stake returns the error 'Update Bet Error: INVALID_SIZE'

This is a known issue if you try to increase the stake, decreasing should still work. The API no longer directly supports this so I need to make it place a new bet instead. I haven't yet made this change.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
