Did anything odd happen this morning?/"Market_Status_Invalid

Postby crocogotter » Sat Jan 17, 2015 7:23 pm

I often use BA with an excel spreadsheet to place bets on the greyhounds. I have 4 different sheets linked up, so a maximum of 4 bets can be placed. One lay and one back bet should be placed more or less every race, with the other lay and back bet only placed under certain circumstances.

Everything seems to have worked OK for the first race at both Romford and Crayford, but no further bets were placed at Crayford all morning, and only 1 of the 4 sheets worked at Romford from 10.46 to 12.33. Romford seemed OK for the last 5 races (12.47 onwards), and Newcastle this afternoon seems to have worked OK, although I can't be sure as some bets would only be triggered under certain conditions and I can't be sure whether they existed or not.

Saying that, I'm not sure Newcastle has worked. I've just seen a "Market_Staus_Invalid" message in the "Bet Ref" field on the last race there. All 4 sheets are shown as having a bet placed (once a bet is placed on each sheet, no further bets can be placed on that sheet), but only 3 bets were actually placed.

Any thoughts anyone?

One further point, the "Market_Status_Invalid" in the bet ref column isn't even for the greyhound that should have been bet in that race, the dog selected was trap 1 yet the message appears in the bet ref field of trap 4. Also the time of the bet placed in the box alongside is about 20 mins before the race, mine are triggered just before the scheduled off.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
