Premium Charge Question

Postby wesdag » Fri Apr 03, 2015 4:22 pm

Could someone please explain how losses impact on the premium charge.

Assuming I'm in profit of course and have used up my allowance, if during a week I had:

£1,000 of winning bets
£500 of losing bets

so therefore net profit of £500
and assuming commission of 4%

would pc be payable and at what amount?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming you are "only" on the normal 20% premium charge (not 40% or 60%).

commission generated:

4% of 1000: 40
3% of 500: 15
total: 55

As winner and loser have to share commission: 55/2=27.50
Betfair wants 20% of 500: 100
So you would have to pay 100-27.50=72.50 premium charge.

Last year I advertised a loophole against premium charge on this forum.
But nearly nobody believed me and the loophole is closing at the moment unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply.

Such a shame there's no workable loophole to get round this robbery.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
