Why is logging out important? Ask Betfair, I did and they dont recommend just exiting the website, you should log out properly. Not my words - theirs.

As an experienced user you probably dont need the points I mentioned, but many of us do. But Im sure they will be added in due course.

Lex. I will add the log out function tomorrow. You think I can't do it? You are wasting your time. Tell me what the consequences of closing the program without logging out are? Someone else can use your session? I don't think so. Anyway this time tomorrow it will be academic. You'll have to find some more problems. Why don't you go ahead and produce a long list? I know it still has problems, but they will be fixed in due course.

Thanks Guv

I have said this before Layit. Your program is v.good and you mustnt take what I say as a dig. I am sure you can do anything - interfacing with the server directly without API is pretty nifty. But dont you now have to put all the Betfair 'functions' back for your users?. I think there is only a negligable speed difference by side stepping html. A good reason to use a browser is simply because of the 'user friendly and familiar' things we take for granted are already there. But if your doing it to learn the process thats ok too.

All the best.

Open up your task manager and watch the CPU usage when you refresh the prices through Internet Explorer and then look at the CPU usage of my program refreshing several markets simulataneously.

One click on the pink lay box and one on OK?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
