Close bet just before off

With excel Is there a way to close out a bet just before a race starts for level loss/win?

I am looking to place a bet before the off with a tick offset but I don't want an unmatched bet going in play , if the offset is not matched before the start of the race I want to a level green/red out. Is there a formula that would do this, say 1 second before the race start time?

Easiest way would be to place the offset bet with SP preferences so it'll convert to SP at the off. Sometimes it's really not worth the effort to code it to level red/green and just accept the swings and roundabouts of SP. Obviously that's assuming the market is one that accepts BSP bets

If you look at the trigger modifier SPC it may do what you need rather than going to the trouble of coding a separate routine for the off.

Betfairs starting price is usually very close to the off price so not like you'd lose any value which you may if you start chasing prices at the off to close. Only drawback may be that your greening or redding may not be at the optimum price if the market has moved a lot from your opening bet. But generally over time you find those even out with some in your favour and others not

I think Gary has previously posted some example sheet with green/red routine so may be worth having a quick search for that as shouldn't be hard to trigger the code with a second before the off time. Trouble with that is races rarely go off to time so you could be losing value closing earlier than needed.
