I HATE USING SUMPRODUCT!!!!!

Aaaah - that's better.

=IF(SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:C1=G1))=2,TRUE,FALSE)
IF A1 to C1 = G1 value (-- convert true and false to 1 & 0) twice, true, else false

Just make sure to use >= if required

I would just like to thank Ronnie for helping with my spreadsheet. I know he has helped some others on here and he has been a massive help to me. The fully automated sheet he has written for me is well above my level, but works very well. :D I suffer from a lack of disipline so a automated sheet is the only way for me. Good luck all.

Hi
=IF(SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:C1>1),--(A1:C1<1.1))=2,TRUE,FALSE)

I want to know why there is " -- " in this formula, i searched and cant find any info.
Can you or anyone explain to me.

Jim

Basically, -- converts True/False Statements to 1 or 0

So helps if you want to count or sum the number of statements that are True etc

That's because the formula is asking for that to be returned.

If (condition) then TRUE else FALSE

If you want 1 or 0 returned alter the TRUE and FALSE at the end of the formula

To see what a formula is doing, select the cell with the formula in it, click the fx to the right of the formula bar at the top and you should see how the breakdown if the IF formula is being done.
Click another part of the formula and you will see how that part is being calculated and the result of that piece in the calculation.

So that goes back to my original question.
What does the "--" mean

I see
It converts the query in the argument

--(A1:C1>1) is 1,1,1

I thought you meant it converts the TRUE FALSE

Worked it out in the end.

Thanks for your help

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
