excel and trigger betting

Postby stan » Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:06 am

Hi all, new here, so maybe a stupid question!

I am using the sample excel spreadsheet to trigger lay certain horses at certain prices. I have followed all instructions, and I think it is working, but do I have to have excel open on my pc, or can I save it and close it and the assistant will still find the spreadsheet

cheers

If Excel is not open then you can use the browse button at the top of the Excel link form. Navigate to the file and click open and it will open the workbook for you. Obviously this will open Excel. You cannot actually have it linked to the workbook without having Excel open.

1 more probably stupid question, I have entered the horse name as per instructions, LAY, prices and the time, but not put in a race time, I assume this isnt needed?

No. It moves through the markets, opening each market just before the start and if there are matching names it triggers the bets. This will only work if you have followed the instructions here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Excel/E ... etting.htm

Hi Gary, followed it to the letter!

part 6 I think you have updated that bit on the bot, so I just ticked what the instructions said and left the additions as they were

so I dont have to click anything like start, it will just do it

fingers crossed

I don't recommend using Excel 97, we don't support that version. Email a copy of the spreadsheet to admin@gruss-software.co.uk and I will check if I can see anything obviously wrong with the way you entered the selections, but I fear it's probably your Excel version.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
