Version 1.1.0.56 is available to download

Postby GaryRussell » Wed Dec 17, 2008 6:03 pm

Below are the changes and enhancements made since version 1.1.0.20
We are not going to force an auto update just yet so you will need to install using the link below if you want to take advantage of the new features. We are currently working on a new help file to include all features which will be released shortly.

The following changes have been made in this version.

There is a new tab in the betting options to enable an alternative green up column and set the options. Please note the options are global so once set on the options of one tab page, it is automatically set for the others.

-1 trigger in Excel will trigger the first race even when no races have been selected yet.

UPDATE and UPDATESTAKE trigger added to Excel
Increasing the stake creates an additional bet so the bet ref will change to the new bet ref with N appended. The N is to prevent more updates being fired because the update is triggered by the requested stake being different to the current stake. The additional bet will have a different stake to the original bet so it would fire another update if N wasn't present. Decreasing the stake does not create a new bet ref so only the bet time column will change.

3 new triggers that can be used in cell Q2.
-5 select first market in quick pick list
-6 refresh bet results
-7 clears the list of bet results if you have chosen to log them

marketId property added to COM interface

getHorseForm function added to COM interface
See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3140 for further details.

Level profit column added to ladder interface. This can be enabled in preferences. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2515 for further details.

Fixed problem on ladder interface where a level profit figure was being offered when profit had already been levelled.

Fixed problem where market depth not appearing on ladder interface sometimes.

Added the option to play a WAV sound file when the event is 30 seconds from the start. This file can be set in preferences under the 'sound alerts' tab.

Increased available custom columns from 3 to 24.

Bet logging facility added. Select 'View transaction log' from the Account menu.

The CANCEL and CANCEL-ALL Excel triggers are now handled in a more robust manner.
CANCEL will not clear the bet ref until a successful bets refresh has occurred and the list does not contain the reference.
CANCEL-ALL will not clear the ref unless the response from the API was OK, previously it would clear the ref regardless.

Fixed problem where market would not start refreshing if the ladder interface was selected before any markets selected.

Added new options tab Offset requests. Select the number of ticks to be added or subtracted from the odds clicked on. eg. if the back odds are 2.66 and the back offset is set to +1 then 2.68 will be requested.

Preferences window split into categories to reduce clutter.

The conditional bets feature includes an additional column where you can specify the time after which the bet can be triggered, it will not be triggered before this time.

Support has been added for running multiple instances of Betting Assistant through the use of profiles. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2884 for details.

Tick offset bets can now be placed as a percentage instead of ticks. Tick "Ticks = %" on the tick offset options tab to use this option. eg. tick offset=50 and back odds are 3.0, the lay bet will be placed at 2.0
This option is also available in Excel triggered betting, use BACK-P50 instead of BACK-T50

Two new triggers added to Excel.
BACKR and LAYR
These triggers work exactly the same as BACK and LAY except they can be used when you have an unmatched bet and the bet ref column contains a reference. The bet will be cancelled and replaced. When the bet has been replaced it will have N appended, this is to prevent further bets being triggered. You could use this trigger to update the stake and odds with one trigger for example. The trigger will not fire if the bet has P appended (ie. partially matched)

Version 1.1.0.44 fixes a problem with version 1.1.0.43 where tick offset as percentage not calculated correctly when offset bet is a lay.

New COM server property keepBetType:integer
0 = Cancel when market turns in play
1 = Do not cancel when market turns in play
2 = Convert to SP bet when market turns in play
The above options set the 'SP in play' and 'Keep in play' check boxes in the betting options.

Added option to Excel menu to view an error log. The occasional error is normal, eg. Excel is busy, but if you find that Excel is not updating for an extended period then you can view the log for clues as to what the problem is.

The moving average displayed on the charts can be displayed as either a simple moving average or an exponential moving average. Click 'Options' when viewing a chart to change this.

Chart is now underneath ladder on ladder interface.

Improved fill or kill. It is no longer linked to the refresh rate so if you set a fill or kill time of 1 second, but the refresh rate is 5 seconds it will be cancelled if not matched in 1 second. You can also display a different market and the fill or kill will still be active (as long as Betting Assistant is still running)

Separated stop loss from tick offset options. They will still work in conjunction with each other, but you can also use the stop loss without tick offset.

You can now select to trigger the stop loss at specific odds.
You can now select the stop loss to take a level loss.
You can now select the stop loss to be based on a tick offset or percentage offset.

The stop loss options are also available using Excel triggers, examples below.
BACK-SL5: places lay bet if back price exceeds matched back price plus 5 ticks
BACK-SLF10: places lay bet if back price exceeds 10.0
BACK-SL5-S: As above, but the stop loss price is sliding
BACK-SL5-L: As above, but the lay bet will be at the appropriate stake to create a level loss across the other selections
BACK-SL5-SL: As above, but the stop loss price is sliding and at a level loss
BACK-SL5P: places lay bet if back price exceeds matched back price plus 5 percent
BACK-T1-SL5: as above, but combined with a 1 tick offset bet. the tick offset bet is taken into account when the stop loss is triggered.
eg. the stop loss bet will not be placed if the tick offset bet is fully matched

The ladder interface now displays the jockey's silks

Fixed bug affecting P&L display when viewing mixed win and place market

Fixed problem where enter key stopped working in My Bets after switching between tab pages.

Fixed a problem where bet references from lay and back bets can get mixed up when triggering bets on the same market from different worksheets.
See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3333 for further details.

Two new Excel triggers added: CANCEL-ALL-LAY and CANCEL-ALL-BACK to cancel or lay or back bets for a selection.

Added option to ladder interface to display amounts below minimum stake in the full market depth. This option can be set in preferences.

Now includes an option to append N to the new bet references created with the UPDATE trigger. When you set up the link to Excel there is a new checkbox UPDATE trigger appends "N" to new bet ref.
In prior versions N was appended automatically.

The row height and font is now configurable in the ladder interface.

Problem fixed where prices returned by COM interface did not include decimals for international users, eg. 2.2 was returned as 2

Improved efficiency of Excel update.

Added new function to COM interface to query market traded volume.
See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Excel_S ... xample.xls for example

Fixed problem affecting lay bets combined with tick offset and keep SP in play options. The offset bet was not placed until the lay bet was completely matched instead of in chunks.
See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3334 for further details.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
