Help with Auto Bet

Postby bmann13 » Mon Nov 05, 2007 2:16 pm

Hi,

I am having problems with the Auto Bet feature in the Alpha version of BA. If you look at the image attached:

I am trying to lay trap 4 between 3.45 to 5. Obviously I am doing something wrong so could someone here please guide me on how to correctly set up this bot?

Thanks in advance.

If you are doing something wrong I cannot see it. It should have placed a bet. I will investigate and get back to you.

I've been playing about with this for the first time myself this afternoon.

Can you only use each autobet only once ? ie. you can't repeat the same bet by deactivating and the reactivating ?

Also - I could be being thick here !! - what's the point of chasing odds by more than one tick, you'll never gt matched. will you?

Just realised, using the tick offset can create a bet which isn't going to be chased.

Another question though. If you are chasing the odds, does the program ignore your own bet(s).
eg. if you wanted to lay at the best back price plus one tick, if you are the only one offering the price,
the program wouldn't top itself, wpuld it ?

You can only use each auto bet once.

If you layed at the best back price plus one tick then yes it will top itself right up to the specified max odds  It is only the Alpha version though.

Hi Gary,

Did you get a chance to find out why Auto Bet is not placing the bet?

Thanks,

Bob

I'm afraid I haven't found a reason yet. I will be releasing a new Alpha version, hopefully by the weekend which will include more visual feedback as to what is going on.

Is this issue linked to the one I mentioned on my thread in Discussion regarding Autobet or is my issue to do with something completely different - ie refresh rate?

Your issue is different in that I put it down to when the market was being refreshed, but I now think there may be another problem, hopefully we will get a better picture when I release the next Alpha version later this week.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
