How do I do this?

Postby drewrell » Thu Nov 15, 2007 3:22 am

I am trying to automatically load selections from a website into excel. Which is working fine
However I am not sure how to automatically link these with BA to then select the correct race and place the bet when my criteria is matched. eg lay if between 2 & 6

Eyesnack had a spreadsheet available for download which would automatically load all runners from the racing post site.

Need something similar but only want to load the selections from the website.

Just dont understand what I need to do to get BA to confirm details and then lay bets.

Any suggestions?

Is this an impossible task?
I have limited experience.

I don't know how Eyesnack's spreadsheet works but you could possibly let that sheet do all the work and do a lookup from it to your spreadsheet to decide which horses you are interested in.

Shouldn't be a problem as excel can easily link to websites via web queries pull down the data then use a vlookup command to place the bet using auto select of markets

Hav a look at the thread
http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewt ... p&start=15

which was using vlookup to allow people to enter their bets for the day then lt the sheet bet for you. As you've already managed to get the runners onto your sheet it shouldn't be a roblem with vlookup

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
