soccergeez. Are you using it correctly? For each separate market you must select a different worksheet. eg. for the 1st market select 'Sheet1' from the drop down list (this is the default selection) and for the 2nd market you select 'Sheet2' from the drop down list. Separate markets cannot be logged to the same worksheet.

You may have noticed. An 'In Play' indicator is logged to the worksheet next to the update time. You could use this in your formulas to place a bet only when the market is in play. I tested it earlier on a South African race laying the field at 1.01 when the market was in play. To my surprise I won £10, my first 1.01 loser

ok, how do I get the prices onto a sheet other than the default one without un ticking and then ticking again the log current prices box - which makes the clock stop?

soccergeez. Sounds like you are not opening the separate markets on separate tab pages. Are you clicking on 'New page' and then selecting the new tab page. Each tab page works independently and can log to Excel independently.

lol - looks like this thread is going to get even busier with all the excel queries that are coming up.

I had the same problem as soccergeez re looking at more than 1 market in excel at the same time. Took a while to figure out that the software had to be looking at 2 markets if i wanted to get the data from 2.

I think all the queries were answered, but if not i should be around for a while longer (try to keep my answers as short as possible).

George are you around?

I've been trying to adapt your macro but I've gone crazy trying.
Basically what I am trying to get it to do is as follows:

Using LayItYouMug's Betting Assistant I log the prices to Excel but put the top left cell as B1 leaving column A clear.

At 13:30 the average price (at that instant) for each horse, dictated by the formula ((Lay Odds1-Back Odds1) / 2) + Back Odds1, is put in Column A for each Row

So if at 13:30 Horse A (in Row 5) is: Back Odds 3.1 and Lay Odds 3.2 then 3.15 is entered in Cell A5.

I'm getting to grips with functions but Macros are doing my head in!! lol

Cheers

On my chart I use one set of match odds when the game is level and a different set if either team is leading, can anyone think of a formula that will enable layits program to use the correct set of match odds depending on the score without me having to do it manually?

Ok. I have prices for home, draw, away set up on a spreadsheet and want Layit's program to place a bet when the available odds are bigger than my calculated ones which Ithink I now know how to do.
When either side is winning the game I need Layit's program to compare the current available odds on Betfair to a different set of home, draw, away prices which I also have on the sheet and ignore the original home, draw, away prices.

Hey Monkey man, this should do it.

Sub split()

If Range("D2") >= Range("A3") Then
maxfield = ActiveSheet.Range("b65536").End(xlUp).Row
For i = 5 To maxfield
Range("A" & i).Value = Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(Range("I" & i)) - Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(Range("G" & i))
Range("A" & i).Value = Range("A" & i).Value / 2 + Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(Range("I" & i))
Next i
End If
End Sub

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
