Unfortunately not. It is something we are thinking about implementing, but can't advise any timescales at the moment.

Gary / Mark,

With the computer world initially being taken over by Microsoft, to link BA to MS EXCEL was an obvious route to take. However, with software like OpenOffice and Firefox beginning to take more of Microsofts market (and from what I've seen and heard, this software is just as good if not better than Microsofts), has the option to link BA to OpenOffice been considered recently, or is it still on the back-burner!?

I'm sure there's a potential market out there for you guys to tap in to

it's not a priority at the moment, there's just too many other things that need doing first. I get your point though.

I undrestand that it's not a priority but I would also like to put my hand up for open office- which in my view is superior to excel. It's easier to use and much lighter/faster too. Would love to see BA link to it- but realise it will be a while yet.

How good is OpenOffice.org Basic (the programming language) compared with VBA?

Does anyone have any experience with it?

Thanks,

Al :?:

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
