During the last ten days I have had occasions where the refresh stalls and I notice that the refresh rate (mine is set at 1sec.) figure shoots up to a very high figure.
Perhaps Layit could comment

Pred, if 're looking for something more basic try the Bet Angel software. Got to the site (betangel dot com) and download the basic version. This will literally give you one click trading, based on the Betfair odds available.

Layit, two things the above software offers that could perhaps be incorporated into your program aew, account balance always on screen (maybe with the option to toggle it on/off) and a more comprehensive range of markets. For example I checked a cricket match last night, (Kent v Warwickshire) could access it on betangel but not on your program.

That said bet trader is miles ahead of the free version of betangel.

Hi there, anyone experiencing a slow refresh 95% betfair related, on the other occasions only have one market open, if more are needed make sure only the one you are viewing is set to 0.5 sec, all the rest set to a min of 5 secs, this cure most slow refreshes, inrunning can slow due to the usage of betfair market. Hope this helps, plus have a few spreadsheet stratergys programed into spreadsheets, ie: stoploss, weight of money triggers, top of market, willing to exchange some ideas??. Leave a message on here if you are to SHAUN SPREADSHEET

LayIt,

Thanks for implementing a few of my last requests. I have a few more though:

I finally discovered how the Dutch option works. Would it be possible to set a trigger at which the bet is placed? I mean, I set a required profit and a maximum stake and the bets are placed when the total stake is below the ammount set.

Something simmilar with the trading option. Pre set a profit and auto place the bet when the profit is reached.

It might already be possible with excel, but until there's a good readme, i've got no idea how.

A few more account options would be nice too, like profit and lose etc

Thanks for the great program!!

I have read the whole thread and although Layit introduces excel trigger betting he doesn't explain how you get it to work. (unless i have missed something).

Can someone please let me know how to start using it effectively.

Thanks

Well done Layit and thanks for the use of your very useful program. I have especially enjoyed expermeinting with excel, I hate to add to the long list of requests. But would it be possible to have 2 triggers per selection?

sally, the triggered betting on Bet Angel is very similar to layit and doens't need a PHD to use it, I am not sure which version you are using? Also Bet Angel refreshes much faster than anything I have found on the market. Its perfect for me and the way I have trade.

Also I feel more comfertable with a commercial company than a free piece of software thats been knocked together. I think layit has done a great job and all that but I would only ever use it as a test bed rather than a real application to trade. I trade in very large amounts and only feel happy with something that is going to perform under stress.

I am sure there will be other apps around over time and like the others I'll end up signing up to them. I'm looking for every edge possible in the market. I don't think you will ever achieve that with something that's in free distribution IMHO.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
