The gambling commission is currently looking into in-running markets. This is what I found on their web site:
We have released an issues paper on in-running betting, intended to generate debate and provide the Commission with information on a number of issues relating to the activity of betting in-running (in-play). We are looking at issues including technological advantages, trading rooms, time delays, potential for cheating and problem gambling and are seeking further evidence in response to the questions posed in this paper.
The responses will provide us with evidence in order to decide whether any action is required to regulate the activity of in-running betting. We welcome all information that will provide us with a solid evidence base with which to come to an informed decision on how to approach the issues that we think merit consideration in this area.
The consultation runs until Wednesday 6 August 2008. Responses from all interested parties are welcome by that date, further information on how to respond are contained in the issues paper.
The paper is 12 pages and is downloadable in pdf format.
I strongly advise all Gruss users to respond to this threat by making their feelings known to the gambling commission.
Regards DFK.
