Maximum number of markets

Postby Smokin Joe » Wed Jun 04, 2008 4:03 pm

Gary (or anyone else who knows), is there a maximum number of markets which can be added to the first tab so that they can be linked with Excel?

I've had over 20 but you've got to take into account the way they charge for refreshes now.

Say I have 20, how does that impinge on the transaction charge?

ie, what rate do I need to use so that I don't get charged?

Within preferences "Throttle requests" is ticked, but greyed out and it is set at 10.
I presumed that meant that I couldn't reach the limit of 20 per second, and so I wouldn't be charged.

Ian, is there something else that I should be aware of re charges.

BTW, I am not a trader, and therefore don't need a fast refresh time.

Do you have a message popup about transaction charges every time you open the program? If not then email me your Betfair user id and I will remove the block on allowing you to change the throttle limit. You can set it as high as 20 without being charged. View the help file at http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm and look under 'request charges'.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
