Triggered Bet Issue

Postby doris_day » Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:46 pm

I've designed an algorithm which I'm using as a trigger. Everything seems to be working fine but the trigger only ever seems to work on the first runner in the list.
I know that there are times when the trigger should have worked OK for one of the other runners but its never fired eventhough the correct logic is in all the cells of the same column. The trigger will only ever work in-play so I'm wondering if there is chance that the cause could be something to do with the refreshing cycle.
I just cant see why the trigger shouldn't be firing. Any ideas would be most welcome.
Thanks

without seeing the trigger it's hard to guess , are you using VBA to set the trigger or just a formula ? If it's a formula check that all the relative references are correct especially if you just copied and pasted it down the line. Happened to me lots of time where I've had triggers based on values in say the time cell but forgot to set them as $D$2 and they've all bee out of sync when pasting down the trigger column

Thanks for that. You know, I thought I'd checked all the refs but on checking again after your post I saw that the most obvious of them all, that 'Inplay=1', didn't have the $'s in place, so all bar the first one are referencing the wrong cell.
Thanks for making me check such a bloody obvious mistake on my part. Doh...

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
