Trigger to CANCEL IF

Postby manager1 » Wed Aug 20, 2008 3:19 pm

I'm after some help with a trigger please?

Currently in the trigger column I have =IF(A5<>"","LAY","")

I also need to include in the above formula, that if F5>=R5 AND my bet is still unmatched, then cancel my current lay and resubmit at the new odds in R5.

(I already have a formula in the stake column to change the stake depending on the odds, so that part is covered)

I'm really struggling with it, and got mixed up.

Any ideas?

Not sure you can cancel the current lay (as the formula can only fire once, so how can it place the bet and then check if it is matched and then place another bet) and place a new one with a formula. You may have to use VB.

I think it could be done with formulas by comparing the time to the off in cell D2 with constants in your formula, so that the required actions are done one after the other. But I have never actually checked a bet for being unmatched, nor cancelled a bet, so I can't show you the formula you need.

I do use something like that, but I use code to do it.

Have a look at this post for how I do it. http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 0&start=24

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
