Price increase - subscription problems

Postby mikedmc » Mon Sep 08, 2008 11:33 am

account: mikedmc.

Hi,

I filled in your form a while back to increase my subscription from the £5 to £6 per month but I still get the warning screen when I start up B.A. and this morning I also received an email regarding the increase. I've looked in my paypal but I can't remember how I look at subscriptions, if you tell me I will have a look and correct it if required.

Thank you.
Michael.

PS. Any luck with having the graphs rescale themselves yet? :)

Hi Michael,

The re-scaling graphs will be included in the next release.

You can download a pre-release version to try this.

Uninstall the version you have using windows Control Panel and then re-install from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting_Assistant_Beta_Test.msi

Regards,
Mark

Gem and I have been singing the praises of B.A. a lot lately so you should have seen a few more new users recently, so don't forget us when you make your millions ;)

Hi Mark,

The rescaling graphs seem to be working really well. Thank you. Any chance that we can have the graph above the runners on the ladder screen though as you are unable to see the graph without scrolling down (which means you are unable to use the ladder - kind of defeats the purpose).

Lately I have had problems with B.A. crashing for no reason, this has happened with both versions 1.1.0.21 and 1.1.0.23. Just hangs and I have to go through the this program is not responding routine before being able to restart it. I know there is very little information here but any ideas?

Thank you.
Michael.

Where does it hang? Is it when you are selecting markets? Selecting markets has a fairly lengthy timeout of 30 seconds. If this is where it appears to be hanging does an error message appear after 30 seconds?

Apologies for not replying Gary, completely forgot about it. Had a few things happening recently including the birth of my son.

One thing I did find time to do was upgrade the memory in my PC and HD, I now have 1TB of HD space and 3gb of Ram and it seems B.A. is working without any problems. I did however upgrade B.A. to the latest beta with scalable charts so can't be sure what has solved the problem.

Regarding the scalable charts, great by the way but is it possible to have a slider or something so you can go back through the chart data but still have it scale correctly. Does that make sense? It's just I sometimes like to leave a market open to see how the market is going and then check it when I return but if the odds have changed dramatically or its gone ip I can't go back and c the odds. If we had some slider to go back along the chart with the chart scaling to the new odds it would b v. helpful :).

Thank you.
Michael.

I thought that was the rescaling feature you were previously talking about and it has been implemented. When you use the scroll bar underneath the graph to view previous prices (after changing the time scale in the drop down list) the vertical scale changes as you scroll.

You should have version 1.1.0.24, install it using the link below. Uninstall using the control panel first.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
