How to place lay bets a minute before the off?

Postby Kingwizz » Sun Nov 23, 2008 2:44 pm

Betfair SP is done via liability when placing lays & I want it to a set stake. All help very much appreciated! Cheers,

Thanks for your reply orange. Sorry, I think you may have misunderstood me (Probably my fault). I know how to place a set stake at Betfair SP as opposed to liability. But it will only be actioned if liability is over £10. I need to place a lay bet at say 1 minute before the off. This sounds like a pretty basic trigger to me, is gruss able to execute this command & if so how? Cheers,

The latest version I am working on includes a time option in the conditional betting feature. You can install it using the link below. You must first uninstall the current version using the control panel.

http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... a_Test.msi

Select help from the program menu to find help on conditional betting. It doesn't mention the time column as the help file refers to version 1.1.0.20. Enter the time after which you want the conditions to be tested (eg. 1 minute before the race)

Thanks for your help Gary. So just to confirm (so to avoid any major problems). After opening up the conditional bets columns I just enter the time (GMT) into the "trigger after" column?

Does the software need to carry-on running & be connected to the internet in order to execute the trigger? (Sorry if this is obvious) Cheers,

That's right and also I presume you have filled in the stake and condition. The program needs to be left running and viewing that market. If you want to place bets on multiple markets each market should be opened in a separate tab page.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
