Nutter Punter. Edit the file named CurrentVersion.txt in the folder named c:\program files\Betfair Trader. Change the version number to an old version eg. 0.95. Next time you open the program then it should update. If it does not I bet it does tomorrow. Some people have their system setup so it caches files from the net even when my program accesses them. I haven't found out how this happens yet.

Great update Layit, you mentioned the strain it was putting on the Betfair server, that's nothing compared to the strain it was putting on my PC and internet connection!

I'll echo the request for a cell to show when a bet is matched.

Also, when I have multiple triggers populated, each bet appears to get "queued up" and executed individually. Would it be possible that bets triggered at the same time would get submitted together?

I'll third the bet matched cell request. It would also be nice to have the account balance on there also. Reason being that you could auto-stop bets when your desired balance is reached. Food for thought. That would be very helpful as I hate giving back my profits once i've won them.

I think this was asked for in the earlier stages, but for obvious reasons its not a huge priority.

If possible I would like to see a 'for fun' mode, where you can start off with a fictional bank and trade on the odds etc...

I imagine this would be helpful for people testing new systems etc..

Regards on a great bit of programming,

I agree that last matched price would improve the program.

I think the API version of this program would add a lot of value especially after yesterday's technical problems. In other threads people say that API users could still trade some time after the site crashed.

You need to be careful with the last price matched. The last price matched on the information page for a selection is at least 20 seconds behind. I'm assuming you can get the real-time price via API.

No, if the site has problems then my program will also suffer as it is talking to the Web server just like Internet Explorer. I will be converting it to use the API soon, but I imagine that is also not immune and I am never going to suggest that it will give you an unfair advantage

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
