nuatthis. The code I changed only affects Excel triggered betting, it couldn't cause prices to start freezing where they didn't in version 0.98i. There must be another problem, maybe your internet connection.

Anybody else having problems?

nuatthis. Just found a problem with the code which could potentially cause prices to stop updating and require a program re-start. This problem has been in the program for a long time, but I just didn't spot it! Just released version 0.98k. Please let me know if this solves the problem.

I got some nulls today - not in running tho. I didn't have time to sort it out properly and went back to manually submitting the bets. Some worked OK, some didn't ... I thought that it was probably my formula requesting invalid odds as I undercut the lowest price in the lay cols.

IanP, mikeyboymike: I managed to replicate getting null myself. I entered below minimum stake. Is there a chance you was trying to bet below minimum stake?

I also get null if there are insufficient funds. I will change the program to return 'ERROR' when I get a moment.

Sorted out my problem ... I was asking for invalid odds as some parts of my look up table had odds with loads of decimal place eg. 25.0000000038 ... don't know how it got like that but I think it is now OK.

I've also come across a slight problem with the Bet Ref col and following from that the matched bet details. This may be how I use the program though. When I initially lay the correct score market I load my spreadsheet without enabling triggered betting. I then populate the trigger, odds and stake columns and then enable triggered betting. The bets are submitted Ok but the Bet Refs are mixed up and duplicated when they come back. As an example, from today's Blackpool game, the Bet Ref for 0-0 is also against five other scores , the Bet Ref for 3-2 is actually the Bet Ref for 1-2.

Thanks layit

nuatthis. I'll keep looking for a reason, but it seems odd that I'm not getting a flood of complaints about it freezing. There must be something about your set up I haven't allowed for.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
