Understanding Bet ref

Postby U.F.O » Tue May 19, 2009 3:29 pm

Can someone please help me understand the changes to the bet ref box in excel during the following example

If i place a back bet with a 1 tick offset for 100-00 and a bet ref apears of 12345678,

What happens if half the stale is matched, does the ref changes to 12345678P is this correct ?,

then after the full bet is matched does it revert to 12345678 again ?

and finaly does the lay offset bets ref ever appear in the box.

thanks

Hi UFO,

I have looked at the offset bet and it doesn't show up in Excel in the BET REF column. It will only show the first bet, not the offset one.

See my post on it here: http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... 7891#17891

I'm hoping that Gary can come up with a solution. But he is already a busy man working on other requests! So we'll see.

I recently added the facility to add additional columns, eg. SP, jockey. This gives me scope to add as many extra columns as we need. I plan to add another 3 columns to list the offset ref and the matched stake and odds. It will be a few weeks yet though so please bear with me.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
