i have been looking into using a remote sever for ba where i would rarely need to check things like the quick pick list. im not sure you could ever fully automate ba.

Anything under Horse Racing|GB is added. I'm sorry you are not happy about this.

I can make it ignore anything with something in brackets in the course name. That should eliminate it in future.

But are Betfair consistent in how they label these races?

Postby Village » Sun Aug 02, 2009 9:07 pm

I seem to recall that the first race at Newbury today contained "Arab" in the same brackets as "1m2f", whilst the previous races discussed had the word in a second pair of brackets. It may be hard to implement this if the exact wording is at the whim of whoever happens to be typing them in at Betfair.

A problem for me too as my selections are based on the type exclusion of certain types of race which does not include "Harness" or "Arab". :?

Automated betting will it ever work

The latest build of the pre-release version excludes anything with something in brackets following the course name. You can download it using the link below.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
