Com Interface

Postby sagar » Wed Apr 29, 2009 1:17 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to set up the com interface, with no success though. I think I did everything the help file says but I can't understand this: 'The acception connections IP address must be set to the computer you wish to automate Betting Assistant from which is usually the same computer (ip address 127.0.0.1)'.
I enabled the interface in the preferences, is there anything else that I should do to set the IP address?

Many many thanks in advance.

1) Are you trying the sample spreadsheet Test_BA_COM.xls?

2) Did you follow the instructions below from the help file?
Locate the program Excel.exe where your Microsoft Office program files are installed. A file named Excel.exe.config needs to be created in the same folder if it does not already exist. Edit the file with Notepad and insert the following lines.

<configuration>
<startup>
<supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>
<supportedRuntime version="v1.1.4322"/>
</startup>
</configuration>

Hi,

Yes, I created Excel.exe.config in the same folder where Excel.exe is. I'm trying the sample spreadsheet Test_BA_COM.xls but it doesn't work. When I click on 'Start' I get an error message. In the debug the line 'Set ba = New BettingAssistantCom.ComClass' is in yellow.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Have just checked and the IP address reported is different however this is for external communications and changes every time I log onto the internet I think.?
I believe the 127.0.0.1 address is reserved for local use on your computer and is called localhost but I have no way of checking the operation of this localhost and finding out why port 8000 is not working if infact that is the problem.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
