Betdaq

Postby mak » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:30 am

Hi Gary,
I just tried to download the Betdaq version (test reasons)
How long will it take to receive the registration mail?

From what I saw in the inerface there isn't yet an excel program possibility. Is that right?

Thanks

You normally receive it instantly. I've received an undeliverable message recently so I think you entered the wrong email address. Can you try registering again.

Yes, there isn't an Excel facility available yet.

Hi,

We are looking at making a new version for Betdaq to include the Excel functionality instead of trying to bolt on to the existing Betdaq version which was built using Adobe Flex technology because we have decided it will be much easier to do it in VB.Net the same technology that we have used in Betting Assistant.

So instead of trying to re-invent the wheel so to speak we are going to use Betting Assistant as a template for the new Betdaq version which will have Excel triggered betting. We are looking at a timescale of around 1 month or so to complete the work which has already begun behind the scenes.

Regards,
Mark

Betdaq have their own arbing software imo - I doubt an arb between them and Betfair lasts more than a second.

Ian, yes they seed their own markets with prices taken from BFair but it depends on how your structure your arb :)

Does this mean we will be able to open 1 instance of BA and access both Betfair & BetDaq ?

Will it be possible to link both through 1 single excel workbook?

If not, can you re-consider?

Hi,

There seems to be some confusion here.....let me put the record straight....we are going to make a new version of Betdaq Assistant that looks similiar to Betting Assistant and has Excel triggered betting but it is totally separate from Betting Assistant.

We cannot have 1 application that connects to both exhanges as it is not allowed under Betfair's Terms & Conditions. This will NEVER happen.

Mark

Then would it be possible to link the two outputs through excel without the use of external links? I.e. ability for both apps to write to 1 excel workbook?

If the application is identical to the current Betfair program then it is possible to connect both applications to the same workbook. We will be consulting Betfair on whether we should prevent the program from doing this. We'll get back to you regarding this.

I hope you understand we have to be guided by Betfair on this. If we upset them we are out of business :(

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
