The problem with logging in is fixed. You can now have multiple events open, although I wouldn't recommend having 1 second refresh on all of them. I've changed the default refresh rate to 5 seconds. If you have logged on then when you click 'New page' a new tab will appear and you will already be logged on.

layit, have you considered adding a 'cancel all bets' button alongside the lay field buttons ?

Great program by the way the reverse function is the most use in my betting

Thanks, I'd find it useful because I usually turn off the betfair page. Might be worth adding some button to close the new windows on the new release too as you have to shut down the application to clear them at the moment

Sorry, I didn't mention it. There is a right click option to close the new tab pages. Doh!

When you click reverse you will be requesting a back instead of a lay and vice versa. I think it's obvious why you would want to do that

The security issues that have been raised re internet explorer have been addressed through upgrade. The browser control architecture is based on ie 4.0 and as far as I am aware has not been upgraded. Unless the user has included and set specific security levels the control is vunerable. Betfair recommend I think ie 5.5 or later to guarantee secured connection. It is relatively easy to set the users IE as object rather than have the browser control, which in my opinion should not be used for secure transactions.

Very informative, but if i'm reading it correctly you are only vulnerable if you use the control to navigate to a site that cannot be trusted and may attempt to exploit the vulnerability. My program is hard coded to go to Betfair's site and nowhere else. How can you use my program to go to another site? I don't see how security is a problem.

I think your software has a lot going for it, and its v.commendable that your providing it for free. I shows what can be done and probably has put the cat amongst the XBots which is no bad thing. The competition now has to think long and hard what makes their software so much more diffrent than yours that is warrants paying for. But upgrade to ie6.0 and it makes a better job.

No offence ment.

Lex. Non taken. And if it's as easy as you say I shall definitely be looking to do what you suggest. Any further info you can reply on how to do that would be gratefully received.

I suppose you then parse the html to find the buttons...you may have to fiddle with the .dll's but its wont take long.

Hope that helps.

Great work and thanx heaps - u r a true gentleman for providing this for us

Now to the stupid questions

I'm guessing the stake you enter when dutching is the total stake to be invested between the selected runners???

Does the program take currency into account??? Minimum bet in Australian dollars is $6 and that's what i run my markets in

Just one little thing i noticed when i opened additional screens but didn't actually have markets in them and then right clicked on that screen to close them - there was an error of sorts - i just clicked continue and it went away.

Once again - thanx for a great product - i'm looking forward to the trading option - is it far away???

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
