Hi Kaz

Pretty much anything can be done thru BA if linked to excel. You don't give much away about the system so it's a bit hard to say how easy or difficult it would be to set excel up for your needs.

the rules are simple.....lay the 2nd fav in US races price 3.5-5 use fibonacci staking plan and no loss recovery for 1 point per night.
the person who gave it is using betbotpro. i was testing it with bfbotmanager but he doesnt tell me the time to set the bot to make the bet which i think is important. as someone pointed out(found out last night with tampa) some races start way before the stated time....i have tried it manually and it was ok the bot however lost all my bank! i asked the person using it and they had none of the losers i did! very confusing....

If you are looking for something like BetBotPro then our software is probably not for you. You can program many systems using the Excel triggered betting feature, but you need to be proficient with Excel. Unfortunately we cannot offer the service of creating bespoke spreadsheets.

Betbotpro has fibonacci built in already so i guess would be the easy option, especially if the person giving/selling you the system already uses that software and can tell you the exact settings to use.

Yes BA can be told when to place bets and what stake to use but i would be concerned that you had different selections to the original user altho this could be down to low liquidity where a relatively small bet can change which horse is the fav on betfair.

Kaz

On the subject of races appearing to start before scheduled time, its worth checking that your computer's internal/'desktop' clock is correct. I haven't used the software you mention, but there's a good chance that it tells what the time is by referring to the desktop clock. This can slip out of time by a few seconds a day in ideal conditions, sometimes more.

I use Windows XP, and the clock only checks itself for accuracy approx once a week, though you can manually ask it to check for update whenever. When I first noticed there was a problem, I think my clock was almost a minute slow. I've now installed free software that acts as a secondary internal clock and has the option of automatically checking itself every hour.

I believe there's a small watch-type battery that's supposed to maintain timekeeping while the computer is off. Perhaps mine is dying and that accounts for the problems I was having.

Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, but I'd been meaning to mention this on here anyway.

You might want to take a look at the Pro version of the staking machine ( www.thestakingmachine.com ) particularly the information on automated betting and how it links to Betting Assistant

It's a real help for those people (like me.!) who are unable to get their head around implementing any kind of staking in BA using Excel

Ps. It also includes the Fibonacci staking plan ( .. Along with many others)

I've no affiliation to TSM, just a very happy customer

Hi Kaz,

The trouble with the US horse races is that they start when they want, not when they are scheduled to start. This means that the start times listed against them in Betfair are generally wildly out. They seem to start most often after the published off time. The upshot of this is that if you want to place a bet at a set number of minutes prior to the off, then you will most likely be wrong.
If you want to know how many minutes there really are to go, then you need to watch one of the live feeds for the race you are betting on.
This of course isn't much use if you want to place these bets automatically using a tool such as Betting Assistant. The nearest you can get to it is to cycle through the quick pick list one market at a time and then to choose the race that is most likely to go next based on various criteria. I use two different ones here. That all selections in a race have money traded against them, or, that the overround and underround for the back and lay sides are within set limits.

Cheers,
Kiint

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
