Greening Out

Postby nab » Thu Apr 22, 2010 10:00 am

Hi, Is it possible to select a price at which I would want to green out, rather that having to rely on the current lay price.

i.e. the current lay price is say 3.6 and the greening out stake shown would be 174.22 If I reduce the price in the pop up box, it does not alter the stake.

If so, could you explain how please.

Many thanks

Hi nab,

Have you tried the “alt level profit”?

I Can’t copy and paste from the user guide but if you open the user guide and go to “Betting Options” then “Alt Level Profit”.
It will increase or decrease by ticks where you trade out.

Another way, If you require say a 10 tick profit from your original bet price, is to use the “tick offset” feature, with maybe even a “stop loss”
That’s not a feature I have used much but if you check out the user guide its under the “Betting Options” tab.

I don't use the ladders so not sure if gruss does it but most ladder software shows the potential greens/reds available alongside the prices so you can click them to place the offset any any price/green you wish

thank for the input guys, I had a look but this does not do what I want, what I am looking at is say I am trading and the lay odds are say 3.2 and there are back odds down at 2.9.... I think someone would take a back price of 2.94, so I would want to put my green out bet there. If I select verify bets and hit green out, then it brings up a box so that I can adjust the odds down to 2.94, but it does not adjust the stake accordingly.

Not too sure why you can't use the ladder as it does exactly what you want from what I can gather

Image

You have a list of greens and reds next to the corresponding odds on the ladder , if i click on any of those prices it will calculate the green up stake for me to place any offset bet at the odds I wish.

No the programme won’t do that because most people when placing a bet wouldn’t want it to, so it would have to switch to a different mode or something.

In your example, the “alt level profit” does exactly that, I use it in that way myself. Check it out again.

Click “alt level profit” Tick offset +1 (or whatever ticks in front you require) tick “offset opposing prices”.

Sorry when I say the program won’t do that I am talking about the normal grid interface.

Thanks for posting that Captain, I didn’t realise the ladder could do that.

Hi,

You can resize the ladders horizontally in the Beta version.

Please see http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3922 for details of how to get the Beta version.

Mark

Hi,

Move the mouse pointer to the right hand side of the ladder window and the pointer will change to a double headed horizontal arrow. Then you can hold down the left mouse button and drag to make the ladders slimmer.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
