why bet has not been matched?

Postby wojtazzo4 » Mon Jun 07, 2010 4:41 pm

hi,

I have a question to all of you. Maybe you know something I dont know.

I placed a lay bet earlier this afternoon. After it has been matched the tick offset tool fired up a back bet which was at double odds from lay. after the market gone suspended I have checked betfair graph and it showed that the price I required for a back bet has been reached but unfortunatelly not my bet.
why is that? I have to say that the back price reached my level after lay bet was matched so my back bet should be mathced as well, I suppose.

that was all happening in-play so maybe this is the reason (there is a delay of 3sec.).
do have no more clue.

cany anyone explain that?

Either the price wasn't reached after the bet was placed, Betfair cancelled the bet or you cancelled the bet. I am certain Betting Assistant didn't cancel it by itself. What type of market was it?

you get me wrongly.
I dont mean in this case :) that BA cancelled bet. lay bet was matched, then back bet has been submitted stayed to the end of race. but it has not been matched though the graph shows that my price was reached.

Hope it is clearer now. I'm not saying about BA, rather market behaviours or other things I dont realize.

any ideas?

I'm afraid only Betfair can answer that as they are in control of the bet matching process.

Price spikes occur all the while in running, it's likely your offset bet was too slow getting into the market and the market had moved on.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
