Liability when trading on ladder

Postby BENNY97 » Wed Jun 09, 2010 8:17 pm

Hi Gary, is there a function on Betting assistant that lets you choose your liability per tick , what i mean is say for example i want to make or lose ! £1.00 per tick when ever i entered a trade without me having to manualy change my stake size, i think betangel has this function when i used it years ago , it's just that the odds change so fast , i don't have time to keep clicking the stake buttons to change to amounts , i don't konw if this would be possible but i think it would be a great addition to this brilliant piece of software , if there was a box that could be ticked to set how much per tick was required and then when i clicked on the ladder Betting assistant calculated how much to place for the required profit or loss per tick.
Thanks

I'm not sure how this would work or exactly what you mean. As the odds increase the tick sizes vary so each tick is worth more. Can you provide a couple of very specific examples including the odds and stake you would enter the trade and the odds and stake you would exit the trade. Also are you talking about using the tick offset feature or exiting the trade manually?

Hi mate , i was hoping you'd know how to work it out ! i don't have any specific examples , i understand about the tick size increase.
I mean when trading manually on the ladder , i'm sure betangel had a function something like this but maybe i'm wrong it was about four or five years ago when i used it ! i don't think it was a tick offset function.
It looks like i made myself look a bit of an thicko :?
is it one of those ideas that sounds good but is impossible to put into practice ?

I don't know if it's impossible because I'm not exactly sure what it is. I'll have a read of their manual when I get the chance and get back to you.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
