Problems with Betfair website this morning

Postby xraymitch » Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:36 am

Gary, will this have an impact on BA ?

At the time of writing I am still unable to access my account via the web page, but using BA all seems fine.

Thanks,

Generally when the website has problems so does the API so proceed with caution. Another user has already reported that the API did have problems. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=5145

I have managed to get into my account, but it takes a while.

I have not read anywhere about a problem, but everything seems to be going very slow, as in it takes a few minutes for an event to get the data from BetFair to move on. I have stopped betting for now as normally I get stung when it comes back on.

Has anyone heard from Betfair?

London, I've had number of issues with Virgin too and I'm in the west country. Last summer it was the same and I think the extra load with kids finishing school seems to have an effect. It's the upload speed I have problems with, not the download, but whatever the cause, its a pain in the butt. They tell me that next year they'll be upgrading their upload speeds. The sooner the better.....

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
