change A1 - top left hand cell reference

Postby davez » Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:03 am

Hi, firstly congrats to the developers of this great sotware, Im a new convert & loving what I can achieve with BA

One question I have is it possible to change the default location of A1 - the default top left hand cell shown in the log current prices screen?

Reason I ask is that I have incorporated triggered betting into an existing excel worksheet that I use to create rating etc for my daily betting, & currently log prices to GT3, which of course means I must continually change the reference.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, in Excel/log current prices/ there's an option named 'top left cell', the default is A1

Sorry I think I misread your question. It's also possible to use Excel/mutiple sheets quick link but use only 1 sheet. When saved it will always recall your saved version with the changed top left cell reference

thanks osknows, so i assume the answer is no - one cannot change the default 'A1' as shown in the 'log current prices' screen?

Yes, the default value cannot be changed. I will change this in a future release.

I thought it was possible but on my version 66x13 I can only change it to between A1 - An , it won't link when I try column B onward?

Gary, is this by design or a bug?

Strange. It seems fine here. I will have to investigate. Is it when using the quick link or when using the normal link option?

Can you try again when you get chance and let me know if does it consistently. I should be able to track it down from a log file if this is the case. Also what exactly happens when you say it doesn't link?

I'll send some details when I get home tonight. Essentially, if any other column other than A is used as the top left cell the workbook still opens but no data appears in excel.

Gary,

I've just retried this and all is working fine now?? I know I'm not particularly good in the mornings but seems like senility is also approaching faster than expected too :)

Apologies for wasting your time

The latest Beta version remembers the last cell position you entered and will display it next time.

Install version 1.1.0.66x15 from the link below.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
