API problems ?

Postby BENNY97 » Wed Aug 04, 2010 3:05 pm

I don't know if it's just me , but from the 3.pm race at brighton today my ladder interface on both the pop out and the standard ladder has been jumping spasmodicly, that is not the usual jumping of prices ! , i,ve lowered my stakes just in case it's an API problem again and it's getting ready to crash.

It's the classic API warning sign- bad news.

We haven't seen it for a while until today so I don't know what's going on.

Last price matched and total money matched data (as logged by Excel) are both briefly flashing to zero too, in synch with the jumps.

It does look like the API is returning old data on intermittent refreshes. I would proceed with extreme caution. Best to stop all together in fact until it is fixed.

I'm getting the same thing - odds jumping all over the place and not getting matched when they should.

See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5201 where I provide confirmation from Betfair that the issue was solved.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
